The production of The Benchmarx's second album, "Smell the Music," is in the final stages. JD (Jedidiah Wong) is no doubt spending some long nights mixing the raw recordings at his studio (21:05). He has to wrestle with 13 songs - none of which the musicians were completely sober in recording. In fact, the only sober notes played on the entire CD are in the hidden track, which are the bass notes of an improvisational jam, played by none other than JD himself. What a treat! |

CD labels and inserts are also at the printing press, the latter's original design by Buzz shown above. You can read the liner notes, lyrics, etc. from your very own copy of the CD, which you get free for attending the CD release party. The snazzy, newly-renovated Havana Bar on Changkat Bukit Bintang is hosting this event on November 14th. If you happen to be in the greater Kuala Lumpur metropolitan area, you will most certainly want to spend the warm-up portion of your Saturday night at this event. |

Check out the clarity and positioning of the guitar. This photo was neither rigged before the shot, nor altered afterwards. What makes it even more remarkable is that it captured the very first throw, and there could not be a second as, unfortunately, the ill-fated instrument's last notes were sounds of metal and carefully crafted wood against unforgiving concrete. Glove (official catcher and closest to the scene) described the disaster as totally unexpected. "I guess I was just too relaxed. I mean, we all knew the photo would be pretty good because Hannah was taking it and not that incompetent, bonehead Pacer. And I'm no guitar-tossing pro or anything llke that, but Buzz's technique sure looked pretty flawless to me. Except for the lack of power, of course. Once she left his hands, I knew someone's neck would be broken. And it wasn't gonna be mine." |
